NBT brewing episodes are generally released on Monday each week. As you may have noticed, nothing was released this past Monday, or today. So I thought I had better get something up to explain the lack of content.

First of all, it should be noted that we do have new episodes to release, so when we get our hosting sorted we will start our release cycle back up again.

The problem lies with the service that we use to host our shows, Mevio.com. They have hosted the New Brew Thursday HD feed, NBT Audio Feed, Expert Drinking, and most recently NBT brewing. For the most part, we’ve never had much reason to complain about the service, and they create really well put together iTunes RSS feeds so it seemed like a good idea to use them for all of our shows. Recently Mevio, without notice, warning, or explanation, deleted a HUGE collection of feeds from their servers. It seems that the majority of shows they removed were audio shows, like NBT Brewing. Our casualties included the NBT Audio feed, Expert Drinking, Talking Under the Influence, and NBT brewing.

At this point, we’re trying to decide how to proceed. Since we chose to use Mevio we have the irritating side effect of not having access to the created iTunes RSS feed, which means we can’t just starting hosting the shows somewhere else and redirect the feed without losing you awesome subscribers. Also, this is the second time we’ve had this problem. We originally put the NBT Brewing feed over on Blip.tv, who has also decided they no longer enjoy audio shows and killed that service. They at least provided a ton of notice before they did it. We are going to take this “opportunity” to alter how we handle the feeds, and who we trust to manage our content, and hopefully this will permanently solve this problem, or at least allow us to manage these types of situations more gracefully.

I’ll be posting this announcement on all the show sites affected, and as soon as we have the feeds corrected and back up and running I’ll post the new links for those feeds.

Thanks for your patience, while we sort this mess out and all us at NBT appreciate your continued support!

Cheers!
